Installation of tube wells

pix-11 The western part of the state of West Bengal suffers od severe drinking water scarcity. The water level is very low state-run water supply system cannot afford to supply every village with sufficient drinking water. People have to move far away to fetch water and mostly women walk for miles. In summer situation become worse as the groundwater level moves down leaving the existing wells dry. In this situation, the organization took the initiative of installing deep tube wells in several villages of the Bankura district where tube wells are installed using improved technology so that drinking water will be available throughout the year. For each tube well a ‘water management committee’ is formed that will look after the proper usage of water and maintenance of the tube well. To ensure the quality of water samples are tested in state laboratories (laboratories run by the Public Health Engineering Department of Govt. of West Bengal) and after getting satisfied report tube-wells are dedicated for use by villagers.

Food & Ration Support;

On the effects of Cyclone (Amphan, YASS, Bulbul etc) and during the nationwide lockdown for the pandemic situation of COVID 19 Right Track provided food support in the various parts of the villages & Slums of the districts of Kolkata, South and North 24 Parganas and Bankura, west Bengal. Some parts of Bihar and Assam were covered to provide support also. There were 18673 families have benefited from this support.

Seasonal Program; Besides the regular program Right Track organizes a Food Support program for many of its beneficiaries. Some of the project areas are comprised of extremely poor communities that are deprived of all sorts of facilities. They cannot manage two square meals a day. Despite the extreme effort of the organization most of them are still out of reach of the basic services. The organization is endeavouring to cater all sorts of support services for them so that they can have sufficient food for their families. Emphasis is given to families with orphan children, women-headed families and families with very poor or almost no earnings.

  • Dress Distribution: During festivals, the organization provides dresses to the children of underprivileged populations living in slums and streets. Every year hundreds of children get new dresses and enjoy the festival with full vigour. Their smiling faces brighten the illumination of the festival and give motivation to the organization to continue such work sustainably.
  • Winter-Aid Program: Every year organization provides warm clothes to children, women and elderly members of families. Beneficiaries are mostly from urban slums and poor families in the villages. This support protects them from the chilling cold of the rural area. Children with sweaters and pullovers can go to school regularly.
