ICDS Study in West Bengal

This study has been conducted with support from Right Track. This has been conducted in 10 districts of West Bengal. These districts are Kolkata, south 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Bankura, Purulia, South Dinajpur, North Dinajpur, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling. Most of the centers visited have been in rural area. To conduct the study we have talked to AWWs, AWHs, community members, CDPOs and DPOs. In this study we have tried to find out the gap, if any, in infrastructure of the centers and the services provided from the centers. The findings of this study have not been so satisfactory because there is no center which has perfect infrastructure and proper services to the community. It has been found that there is a lack of coordination among different Governmental departments related with this project.
